The wolf Tsume [claw], hiding his true form, lived as a human. Hanging out in the city and leading a band of young delinquents, he lived by stealing food from aristocrats. But another wolf, Kiba [fang], appears before him, causing his wild blood to boil. Kiba cannot forgive Tsume for allying himself with humans, and the two have a duel, putting their pride on the line. However, the battle was interrupted, and Kiba is shot by the tenacious wolf hunter, Quent. And he is taken captive by the police station run by the aristocrats. The story concerns the wolves that were supposed to have been made extinct 200 years ago, but suddenly they seem to be on the move. This may be related to the development and synthesis of Cheza, some sort of female that they refer to as "the flower girl". The flower girl and the wolves are related to each other, seem to pull to each other in the movements that are starting to take place now. One guy says that his grandfather used to tell him that when the end of the world approached, the wolves would be the only ones that knew the way to paradise. In the first episode, Kiba (fang) is drawn to the city because he says he smelled the flower in the city, the flower of the moon. He gets entangled with Tsume (claw), who is running a band of thieves in the city, and is "captured" by a guy who despises wolves as death's messengers. The same organization related to Cheza also holds Kiba, but he ends up escaping with another easy-going wolf that is hanging around, Hige (whiskers). The wolves are gathering, and are all after their own purposes.
